Concrete Repair
Specialist in Concrete Repair
Concrete is renowned for its strength, safety and durability. However, it is not immune to damage or deterioration. Causes of concrete damage can vary and may include leaks, fire damage, the use of chemical cleaning agents, concrete decay (reinforcement corrosion) or simply natural ageing, often referred to as concrete carbonation in the industry. Mourik group member Vogel specialises in this area. We adhere to European and Dutch standards in repairing damaged concrete, ensuring structures are restored for prolonged use.
Tailored Solutions for Every Issue
Concrete damage can be found in all kinds of structures, from shopping centres, residential buildings, hospitals and schools to parking garages, bridges, industrial buildings, museums and monuments. Each case presents unique challenges and requires specific solutions. For minor and major damage not involving chlorides, manual repair or spray concrete application, sometimes with fire-resistant coating, is adequate.
In other instances, we employ carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) for structural reinforcement, also known as adhesive reinforcement with ultra-strong plastic strips. When dealing with concrete decay caused by chlorides and reinforcement corrosion, cathodic protection is the most effective and lasting solution. Vogel possesses comprehensive expertise to provide the appropriate solution in every scenario.
We never commence concrete renovation without thorough preliminary analysis. Initial assessments involve examining visible signs of damage, such as rust stains and cracks, to understand the nature of the problem. We also employ advanced inspection techniques to measure aspects such as carbonation (ageing), the presence of chlorides and the extent of corrosion. Based on these findings, we offer tailored recommendations. Importantly, we hold the BRL 3201 part 1 and part 2 certification and provide a minimum 5-year warranty on our work.
