The Challenge

One of our clients was looking for an innovative method for emission-free tank cleaning, without entry, without product exposure and emissions. No vacuum and/or overpressure allowed during operations. Our New Product Development team worked with the operational staff to realise a practical and effective solution. 

The Solution

We developed a robotic arm, which entered the tank through the roof and completely sealed the tank. The robotic arm did its job and was operated remotely by our staff. The waste water and released gases were captured by a vacuum truck. Released gases were washed through a scrubber. We blew the clean gases - mainly nitrogen - back into the tank. 

Resultaat

The tank was completely emission-free and non-entry cleaned. Through this innovative method, we saved about 40,000m3 of nitrogen and 650 m3 of water for our client. 

The project was appreciated by the client with a Sustainability Award.
