Recognition for safety commitment
Two of our colleagues recently received awards at Dow Terneuzen, a great recognition of their commitment to safety.
During the safety culture campaign organised by VMP (United Maintenance Partners), the theme 'Clear Mind, Safe Work' was central. How do you stay focused and work safely, even when you have a lot on your mind outside of work?
Our colleague Tim won second prize with his open and honest response: “Honesty and transparency help me. When things get overwhelming, I briefly let my colleagues know that I have a lot on my mind. This takes some of the pressure off and helps me focus better on what I can do at that moment.”
During our start-of-work meeting, it became clear that a digital work permit could not be located in the permit system. Our team stopped work until a new permit had been issued, ensuring that the work could start safely. Our colleague Lucas reported the issue to Dow. In recognition of his report, Lucas received the ‘MOS van de maand’ award.
These awards highlight the importance of open communication, staying alert and working safely. Congratulations to Tim and Lucas on their well-deserved awards!
