During a turnaround for one of our clients, our StoneAge robotic bundle cleaner cleaned a bundle at a rapid pace. In just 3.5 hours, all 1,982 bundle tubes were handled — a task that would normally take about two shifts.
Bjorn Schuilenga, Project Manager for New Business Projects, explains: “We’re becoming more adept with the equipment and can now scan a bundle in about 15 minutes. Initially, that used to take 45 minutes. If you have a series of bundles with the same dimensions, scanning the next ones only takes five minutes. As for setup, we typically spend around 45 minutes. It takes some preparation, but after that, the device cleans the bundle autonomously. Water pressure, crawler hose speed, the number of tubes, and any blockages — everything is recorded. With this data, we can, for example, clean the bundle in the same way next time and provide estimates for water usage and scheduling.”
Safe, efficient and sustainable
Mourik continuously invests in technologies that make our work safer, faster, and more sustainable. The StoneAge bundle cleaner is a great example. Our operators monitor the process from a safe distance via cameras. In addition, thanks to the machine’s precision, only the minimum required amount of water is used during the cleaning process.
