Their appointments strengthen local leadership and mark the next step in the division’s growth across the northern Netherlands.
Mourik’s Industry division has grown successfully in the northern Netherlands in recent years. From its locations in Emmen, Veendam and Velsen-Noord, it serves a growing number of customers in sectors including chemicals, food, waste management and energy. To support further growth while staying close to customers and employees, its Northeast and Northwest operations were brought together in the new North region on 1 September.
Experienced leaders with strong regional ties
Harnold Braam has been appointed Regional Director for the North. He brings extensive experience in industry and a strong network across the northern Netherlands. Braam sees significant opportunities for Mourik in the region: “Sustainability, the energy transition and changes in industry call for partners who offer expertise and craftsmanship while staying close to their customers. Mourik has everything it needs to grow further here. I look forward to working with our people, customers and partners to build a strong North region.”
Erik Oortwijn has been appointed Business Unit Manager for the Northeast. He knows the industry and many industrial companies in the northern Netherlands well. Oortwijn is also looking forward to his new role: “For me, growth starts with strong relationships and good people. Being present locally helps us understand what matters to our customers and respond quickly. Our in-house R&D department also enables us to develop tailored solutions to their challenges, which is unique in the northern market. Together, these strengths create opportunities for our customers and our people in the region.”
Niels Potma remains responsible for the Northwest as Business Unit Manager. Harry van Dijk will continue to play a key role in developing operations in Emmen and Veendam as Project Manager for the Northeast.
