Mourik Belgium is investing in the future: purchase of 30 hectares of industrial land in Lier

Article

Mourik Belgium has purchased part of the former Van Hool industrial estate in Lier. Covering an area of 30 hectares, this is one of the largest, as yet undeveloped industrial sites in Flanders. Its strategic location between Antwerp and Mechelen makes the site particularly well-suited for future development.

Investing in the future

With this acquisition, Mourik Belgium is investing in the future. The site offers plenty of opportunities to create space for new economic activities and thereby contribute to the region’s further development.

General Manager Ronny Bertels explains the ambition: “We are convinced that this site has all the ingredients to become a new economic driver for the region. Our ambition is therefore to develop the site. Exactly what form this will take will be carefully examined in the coming period. In doing so, we will, of course, listen to the needs of Flanders, the region, entrepreneurs and the local community.”

Careful elaboration

The future use of the site has not yet been finalised. Over the coming period, Mourik Belgium will be exploring which development best meets the needs of Flanders, the region, businesses and local residents. A careful approach will be central to this process, taking into account both economic opportunities and the local environment.

This investment underlines Mourik Belgium’s long-term ambition to continue investing in sustainable growth and social value. The plans will be further developed in the coming period. As soon as more is known, we will be happy to share further details.
