Dylan Holemans: Job student Mechanic
Tinkering, tutoring and saving up for a driving licence. These are just some of the things that make Dylan excited about his work at Mourik as a Mechanic.

"I wanted to do holiday work and my father knew someone who works at Mourik," Dylan says. "So in the Christmas holidays I started doing holiday work in the workshop. I liked that so much that I stuck around! Now I come to help every Wednesday afternoon as a job student."
Working at Mourik ties in in part with Dylan's studies in agricultural mechanics at PITO in Stabroek. "At school I learn all about maintaining and repairing agricultural and horticultural machinery. Here in the workshop, that comes in handy, but I also learn a lot of new things. For example, about maintaining cars and trucks."
Dylan does see similarities between agricultural machinery and the vehicles he works with at Mourik, but there are also clear differences. "The technology in agricultural machinery is completely different from that in cars or trucks. It's fun to discover these differences and work with them."
Fun working atmosphere and opportunities to grow
What Dylan likes about working at Mourik? "Tinkering with the cars and the cool colleagues in the workshop. The working atmosphere is very nice, there is always room for a laugh or a joke."
The fun part of my job is tinkering and getting my hands dirty.
With the money earned, Dylan has clear goals: "I am saving for my driving licence, both for the car and a crane licence. Recently, I even bought an engine block. I will soon mount that in my car as well."
The plans for the future are clear: "I want to keep helping out in the school holidays to lend a hand and gain even more experience."
