Since September 2025, Ayman Takchira has officially joined Mourik as a technician in our environmental department. His trajectory to here actually started a bit earlier. During the summer, he was already working as a job student and had the opportunity to walk along with various colleagues, visit customers and see installations up close. "That was actually the perfect preparation for my permanent start," he says.

From job fair to Mourik

Ayman became acquainted with Mourik at Moving Forward, a job fair at Antwerp Expo, where our exhibition stand was made up entirely of Clics. "I was there with friends when I was addressed by one of Mourik's colleagues," he recalls. "That was also how I came into contact with the head of the environmental technical department." The conversation piqued his interest and proved to be the first step towards his current job. When he graduated in June within the direction of measurement and control techniques, he was able to start work as a job student immediately that same summer.

Varied work and good support

No day is the same for Ayman. "Sometimes I work in the workshop preparing installations, the other day I'm on a site building or dismantling an installation. Maintenance is also part of it. This variety makes it fascinating: you see many different situations and learn all the time." There are also a number of qualities that are indispensable in his job. "Problem-solving thinking is very important. Things don't always go as planned, so you have to be able to deal with unexpected situations flexibly."

Ayman feels well supported by his colleagues. "You have to ask questions and not be afraid to make a mistake. My colleagues are patient and want to teach me the job. At the same time, they also let me go, so I can grow independently."

His tip to others graduating? "Start looking for an employer early. I started applying for jobs as early as February. Some thought that was strange because I had not yet completed my degree. But I was sure I would make it. That early start ultimately ensured that I found my place quickly."
