FinishedHVAC and plumbing installations future-proofed
D'Ieteren is the importer of Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche, among others, in Belgium. The company is committed to smooth and sustainable mobility for all. Together with Mourik Technics, D'Ieteren is transforming its Kortenberg distribution centre into a workplace that is as future-proof as the cars it sells. More specifically, this involved the transformation of two buildings on the site: a completely new building and an existing building that was completely gutted for renovation. We equipped both buildings with the latest technology for cooling and heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing.
Sustainability building technologies from A to Z
To make the buildings more sustainable, energy-efficient and comfortable, we have installed several advanced systems. An important part of these is the soil energy storage system (BEO). This is a closed system that - depending on the season - stores heat and cold in the ground. Each building has a BEO field of about 40 boreholes to a depth of 125 metres, with a PE pipe in each well. Together, the boreholes form an underground network for storing energy that we use to heat the building in winter and cool it in summer. This leads to climate control with lower energy consumption.
We also installed all associated systems, such as heat pumps, air conditioning ceilings, air handling units, steam humidifiers, heat exchangers, CAV and VAV systems, fire water reels, pressure boosting units, water treatment, room sensors and sanitary appliances. We complemented the installations with a building management system that seamlessly integrates all functions. Finally, our work also included the optimisation of the design in collaboration with a design office, the complete installation of mechanical, electrical and control systems and the management of the project from start to finish.
Building management system for HVAC and energy consumption
Mourik Technics specialises in the integration of complex technical systems. Our approach combines innovative technologies with practicality. At D'Ieteren, we ensured that all installations; soil energy storage, HVAC, and plumbing work together seamlessly via the advanced building management system. This system enables remote monitoring and optimisation of temperature, air quality and energy consumption. We remain involved even after completion, with training in the use of the systems, support during the guarantee period and maintenance of the installations, guaranteeing an optimally functioning building that meets all D'Ieteren's requirements, wishes and sustainable ambitions.

D'Ieteren wanted maximum comfort and optimal, lower energy consumption. And that applies to almost every client who knocks on Mourik Technics' door, whether or not in collaboration with a design agency. We made these buildings considerably more sustainable, focusing on building comfort, energy efficiency and lower CO2 emissions. This is how D'Ieteren switches to a sustainable gear with Mourik Technics.
