Tom Van Laer, our HR colleague, recently achieved a special milestone. He managed to win the challenge cup during the Mourik Development Program (MDP). This prize is awarded to the participant who experienced the greatest personal growth or helped others grow the most during this program.
What is the MDP?
The MDP is a special development program for 'young potentials' within Mourik Belgium and the Netherlands. The program consists of four training blocks focusing on themes such as cooperation, leadership, and talent development. Tom attended these blocks spread over two years and in the process not only developed new skills, but also strengthened the connection with colleagues from both countries. "The MDP provides a safe environment to experiment and develop yourself. You get a lot of opportunities, but you have to take them yourself." says Tom.
From training to personal growth
Tom, who previously considered himself an introvert, discovered how to be more extroverted during the MDP. At the end of each block, participants vote for the one who has made the most progress, and Tom's clear development caught the eye of his peers and trainers, ultimately earning him the challenge cup.
We believe that personal growth and acquiring new skills are essential for both employees and the organisation. The Mourik Development Programme is just one of the ways we encourage this development. By creating a safe environment where employees can discover their potential and collaborate with colleagues, we are building a strong future for everyone within Mourik.
