It was a special moment during Mourik’s annual Leadership Day on June 23 when we introduced our colleagues to the update of our strategy: Route Mourik. With the launch of Route Mourik, our course for the future has been clearly set. Our co-owner Marianne Mourik also took that opportunity to present the first copy of the book Mourik Maakt Morgen, a retrospective of more than 90 years of entrepreneurship and trade expertise. After all, if you don't know where you’ve come from, you don't know where you’re going. The message is clear: Mourik is committed to shaping a safe, robust, healthy future for generations to come.

This Leadership Day marked the start of a shared course, with leaders, as the links that connect us, being essential players in us realizing our shared ambitions.

The past as a compass for the future

“If you don't know where you’ve come from, you don't know where you’re going.” These wise words fit perfectly with the launch of Route Mourik and the presentation of the book Mourik Maakt Morgen. The launch could not have been better timed. Mourik’s Leadership Day brought together the top 250 of our company’s leaders to exchange ideas on entrepreneurship and trade expertise, and on how we can use our rich history as a compass for the future.

Nearly a century full of history, milestones and personal memories

Since Mourik was founded in 1933, our company has developed enormously on its way to where we find ourselves now: as an established fixture offering value to clients in infrastructure, industry, construction and environmental technology. And even now, with our over 2,100 colleagues at home and abroad, the family feeling has remained. This book bundles the stories of a wide selection of Mourik people and special milestones. It also gives a fantastic look behind the scenes, showing all the ins and outs of our family business, with a clear vision of the future.

“Mourik is branded by entrepreneurship; it’s in the blood of everyone who works for Mourik. And that is exactly what we are going to appeal to now: our shared entrepreneurship, where we assume our own responsibility to make the future as envisioned in Route Mourik a reality.”

 For the generations to come

While we look back with pride on nearly a century of Mourik, the Leadership Day was mainly about looking ahead. With Route Mourik, the Board of Management presented the strategic framework for our future. The strategy centers on the question of how we can contribute even more through our work to bring about a safe, robust, healthy world for the generations to come.
