Developed by Australian company Contract Resources, the CatSpider is a proven breakthrough in catalyst unloading technology. By drastically reducing the need for personnel to enter confined spaces, it takes safety in reactor maintenance to a whole new level. To mark the occasion, the inventor himself, Colin Nicholson, travelled to the Netherlands to present “his” CatSpider, supported by Mourik’s expert operational team. A full-scale reactor mock-up was set up on-site, allowing guests to witness realistic, hands-on demonstrations.
Remotely operated
Now in its third generation, the fully hydraulic CatSpider features extendable stabilization arms and is operated remotely with exceptional precision via a control console and a five-camera guidance system. Highly maneuverable within the reactor, it uses independently operated stabilization arms to maintain position, while its powerful, large-diameter suction arm, paired with Mourik’s latest high-performance vacuum unit, removes catalyst quickly, safely, and efficiently.
