The first day at a new company is always exciting. At Mourik Belgium, we make sure you feel right at home thanks to our orientation day for new employees. On this orientation day, you will learn who Mourik is, what we do, and who you can turn to. Steven Ivens (construction project manager) and Joena Van den Broeck (coworker personnel) will guide you through the day and ensure that every colleague receives a warm welcome.
Orientation day program: what can you expect?
“The purpose of the orientation day is to ensure that everyone receives a warm welcome on their first day,” says Steven. “Regardless of your position, whether you are a construction worker, estimator, or manager, you will all participate in the same orientation day. The program includes a general welcome by HR, a visit to the warehouse for PPE, a tour of the garage and IT, and, of course, safety.”
Joena adds: “All the most important information is bundled into one day. And we also provide a joint lunch, so that in addition to an informative atmosphere, there is also a convivial atmosphere.”
Getting to know each other and connecting
“The day is not only about information, but also about meeting people. We provide a light-hearted, interactive presentation with videos and make time for introductions. This way, new colleagues not only get to know the ins and outs of Mourik, but we also get to know them better,” says Joena.
Steven: “This is especially valuable for operational colleagues. They often go straight to the yard and don't see the head office. This introductory day helps them connect, so that they recognize each other later at the yard or an event and can strike up a conversation.”
