Bruce Hanff has been part of the Mourik team since February 2010. Over the years, he worked his way up from general laborer to machine operator. In 2021, he took on the role of Foreman in Industrial Cleaning. What makes his job so exciting? The variety. One day he’s on-site performing cleaning tasks himself, the next he’s leading his team and making sure everything runs smoothly.
From the garage to Industrial Services
Bruce has always had a love for technology and enjoys working with his hands. He graduated from secondary school as a car mechanic and started his career in a garage. “I’ve always enjoyed technical work and love finding solutions to problems. But after a while, I started craving more time outdoors, which led me to switch to a roadside assistance company.” Eventually, he ended up back in a garage, but the itch to work outside returned, and this time it stuck.
Thanks to a colleague who was already working at Mourik, Bruce made the leap. “It was a big change, but definitely the right decision.” From laborer to machine operator and now foreman, Bruce takes care of everything involved in industrial cleaning. “Every day is different. That’s what makes my job so interesting,” Bruce says. His most important advice for anyone interested in doing the same work? “You need to be persistent and willing to get your hands dirty—but also trust in the machines that make the work safer.”

Relaxing on two wheels
After a week of hard work, Bruce unwinds on his motorcycle. He often goes for rides to Germany or Luxembourg. “There’s nothing like the freedom of riding a motorcycle. And with my technical background, I love working on it myself,” he says. It’s clear that Bruce enjoys getting his hands dirty—whether on the job or on the road.

Whether on the job site or cruising on his bike, Bruce always makes the most of every situation and keeps pushing himself to grow. A colleague to be proud of!
