Mourik Industry likes a challenge, especially when we help a client to keep a maintenance stop as safe and efficient as possible. An important client of ours asked Mourik whether we saw opportunities to partially remove the refractory concrete at the bottom of a reactor during a maintenance stop. During previous maintenance stops, other contractors tried in vain to remove this concrete.

Mourik gladly accepted this challenge. Innovative thinking is in our DNA. On behalf of the asset owner, Mourik developed and manufactured a robot especially for this job. This allowed part of the concrete to be loosened and removed under high pressure during the maintenance shutdown. The robot was operated from outside the reactor, so no entrance was required during these high-pressure activities.

The client is very satisfied with the end result. This shows the strength of good cooperation between our clients and Mourik.
