Building consortium CDVM, which includes Mourik, is working on the dyke reinforcement between Kinderdijk and Schoonhovenseveer (project KIS).
Building this primary water-retaining structure mainly involves the traditional application of earth support verges and the installation of various types of construction. At dyke section Bergstoep near the village of Streefkerk, we will shortly start with installing concrete drilling poles. These poles will be shaped in the ground and then anchored. This is an optimised variation of the reference design by the customer, i.e. water board Waterschap Rivierenland. This drilling pole technique means a substantial reduction of the risk of damage to nearby buildings. Mourik secured this order thanks to this innovative design.
